New Year, New Perspective

Happy 2016 Everyone! Yes, I know I am a bit late in my new year blog post (it is the start of Chinese new year – year of the fire monkey (how amazing is that?!))                           but I wanted to experience a bit of the year first before I blogged about it.

Originally I wanted to comment on the physicality movement of this year.  This year is all about “the year of me (2016)”.  This year your physical health will take president and people will finally be addressing their physical health.  This includes doing an annual medical checkup (exam and bloodwork) in order to get a base line of your health.  Tracking (ie. your food, exercise, and changes in overall mental emotional and physical health) is important to determine progress and create awareness.

However, I’d like to focus and comment more on the metaphysical movement of this year (ie the energy or mood centered around this year).  This will be a year of creation and solutions to issues faced last year.  Last year was a year of struggle, or turmoil.  Many issues (about people, community, health, environment, etc.) came to the surface, or awareness, and people became conscious.  Now with this new found consciousness can come change (you can only change what you acknowledge).  The same is true with personal health.  In order to change and improve your health, you need to become aware of the imbalances, acknowledge them, and come up with a plan to improve them.  Hence struggle or stress is necessary for positive change.  I like to use the analogy of this year being like a phoenix – when the bird needs to evolve it ignites, breaks down, then rebuilds itself as a better version.  Hence, I’d like to title this year the year of the golden phoenix (a close cousin of the fire monkey?!).

I wish everyone good health and fortune this new year!
